Neat Bleach in a spray bottle is quite good, Bonny. It keeps the distribution under control because you can aim right at it.
I don't know if you have only 5% toxic bleach in Britain, but we do because of the proliferation of Septic Tanks. I use this. It's on the label.

I don't have any problems with slugs as I have toads and non-poisonous snakes living under and around my house. The big ones seem to know that they are better off elsewhere, like in the overgrown garden next door. LL

Huge claps of thunder and mighty downpours here. The dog will be pulling books off the shelves if this carries on. He doesn't like lightning. Although why he takes it out on books, I really do not know.

Trust you to have a Sand Storm. And huge hairy slugs with humps, no doubt.

Pity we can't send you some of our 'rain' stuff to damp the sand down, Lily - there never seems to be a happy medium.

Sabot we have those huge hairy humpy slugs a plenty down the road. I really like them as they always look like they have smiles on their faces. There are even road signs warning people. farao

So you won't want to be chucking one of them at Bennett. Too cruel, innit. See if you can get one of them to bite him on the bum instead.

Sabot, would it be cruel for the poor camel? It could be traumatised for life.

Better get a gator instead. biggrin

Weather report. The big yellow thing has finally returned, but there is also an icy, howling gale...Thinking positively, the icy gale will, with any luck, dry everything out sufficiently to be brought back under control tomorrow. sunny

Report from here: Big yellow thingy here all day, warm with a few tiny fluffy white clouds. Forecast for this to continue and get warmer each day. Postive thinking is a good thing, bonny!! LL sunny

Managed to cut some effing grass this afternoon before it tipped down again. But only most of it. The rest will have to wait until next week. But I did get the worst of it done.
We do have a teensy problem around here because Local Law says that you may not make any sort of noise between Midday and 2 pm during the Grand French Lunch. Shit knows why, but there you go. It is written on slates of stone, which Moses no doubt brought down with him when he was dead keen to stop everyone from worshipping Gold and other quite nice stuff. So don't even think about earning a few bob between Midday and 2 pm. And Sundays are definitely out altogether. Although I don't have a real problem with that. My lovely Nanna never hung washing on the line on a Sunday. And nor do I.

PS. I don't own a Tumble Dryer. I put mine out of action when I caught one of the little barstards drying one pair of sodden Jeans. Never had a Tumble Dryer since.

Okay. Changing the subject somewhat. But I do want to talk about this, even if only briefly.
I have mostly fed my dogs on middle of the road and very ordinary shop bought rubbish. And I have had a fair few dogs in my time, all of who lived to some sort of old age.
But my lovely Romulus developed a pretty awful skin complaint about two years ago which nearly drove us both mad. I very nearly had him put down because I couldn't cope with him scratching and bleeding.
And then I did a bit of Googling. And Rom is now on a home cooked diet. Mostly Pasta and Vegetables and Fish. Not very expensive, but he has almost stopped scratching.
I cook up a pile of whatever every day which never includes normal Wheat products, which would appear to be the real problem, since all shop bought dog foods include Wheat. Along with other real horror stories that you probably would not believe.
Pasta seems to be okay because it is Duram Wheat which is not the same thing at all. I tried Rice, but that just gave him The Runs.

Romulus is now twelve years old, which is really old for a Shar Pei. Most of them are dead before they are nine years old. But, you see, none of our dogs need to die so soon if only we pay attention to what we feed to them.

Glad you got the grass cut - or most of it - Sabot.

I am thinking positively and with a bit of luck some of the warmth from the big yellow thing will reach you tomorrow and it will leave us with less.

It was 105 deg F here at 7 PM.
