A Malaysia Airlines plane crashed, this Thursday, on the border between Russia and Ukraine. Followed the edge of the device, a Boeing 777, 295 people. There are no survivors. The flight was from Amsterdam and was bound for Kuala Lumpur. (See video at end of text)

The ministry "Emergencies", according to Reuters, advances that were found at least 100 bodies scattered over an area about 15 kilometers up the wreckage.

17h25: Petro Poroshenko, Ukrainian President does not exclude the plane was shot down but guarantees the Interfax news agency that the Ukrainian armed forces are not involved in the slaughter of the plane.

"This is the third case of this kind in recent days after the An-26 and SU-25 aircraft were shot down. I would treat ANYTHING concerning this that involves the internet with the same suspicion as anything from Morais and co. Likewise anything from the Chocolate President.

It is unlikely, but not impossible, that the rebels have these missiles.

It is 100% certain that the Ukrainian forces do, and were photographed moving them round the area a few days ago.

I hope the accident investigators are allowed to do their work without any 'help'.

Ukraine admits it shot down Russian airliner

Ukraine finally admitted yesterday that its military shot down a Russian airliner that crashed into the Black Sea last week, killing all 78 passengers and crew.
Evhen Marchuk, the chairman of Ukraine's security council, conceded that the plane had probably been brought down by "an accidental hit from an S-200 rocket fired during exercises".
Russian investigators believe a missile exploded near the plane, spraying it with shrapnel. Russian and Israeli scientists found metal pellets in the victims and in the fuselage.
Vladimir Rushailo, the chairman of Russia's security council, said: "The investigation has found that the disaster resulted from a strike by a warhead from an anti-aircraft missile."
Although both Russia and Ukraine were almost certainly aware of the cause from the start, it took eight days for Ukraine to accept responsibility.

About 100 of the 298 people killed in the Malaysia Airlines crash were heading to Melbourne for a major AIDS conference, conference attendees have been told.
Delegates at a pre-conference in Sydney were told on Friday morning that about 100 medical researchers, health workers and activists were on the plane that went down near the Russia-Ukraine border, including former International AIDS Society president Joep Lange.
Health researcher Clive Aspin, who is attending the pre-conference, said the news had hit everyone hard, coming 16 years after AIDS research pioneer Jonathan Mann also died in a plane crash.
"Yet again, we're devastated by a similar tragedy," he said. "It's going to be a very sombre mood at the conference in Melbourne, especially for those of us who have been coming to these conferences for many years."
Organisers of the International AIDS Conference, due to begin in Melbourne on Sunday , have not released numbers, but did confirm expected attendees were among the dead.

Statement from Malaysia Airlines:
MH17 filed a flight plan requesting to fly at 35,000ft throughout Ukrainian airspace. This is close to the ‘optimum’ altitude. However, an aircraft’s altitude in flight is determined by air traffic control on the ground. Upon entering Ukrainian airspace, MH17 was instructed by Ukrainian air traffic control to fly at 33,000ft.

It also appears that the plane wasn't on its normal flightpath over the area.

It wasn't regarded as a war crime when the US Navy shot down Iran Air Flight 655, claiming to mistake a lumbering great airbus with 290 on board, for a fighter jet, for instance. It's widely believed that the somewhat cavalier attitude the US took to that - blaming the airbus and giving the crew of the Vincennes medals - is what led to the bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie a few months later, in revenge.

Ukrainian airspace control is run by the military, so I huesa they would know it was a passenger plane.
The leader of the separatists posted virtually the same time, MH71 went down. He was boasting that they shot down a bird.

Russia have also shot down a passenger airliner as well. The russians also showed up quickly to secure the black box from that crash too.

Problem with that, muratfan, is that it wasn't him doing the boasting, it was a fake/clone account. All sorts of stuff was slung together by someone in the minutes after the plane went down but hasn't passed the sniff test.

Aren't you intrigued that Kiev knew within minutes that the plane had been shot down, and didn't just have an accident? Or even a bomb on board?

I am not taking anything at all for granted about this, there's too much wierdness about it.

Another thing - if the US KNEW it wasn't their allies = it had to be the rebels, somehow, then Obama wouldn't have come out with his usual waffle. The chance to dictate to Putin would have been handed to him on a plate.

And why did the US think there were 23 Americans on it at first?

A good few countries have shot down airliners, including Ukraine previously, so I am taking heed of that old saying about Truth being the first casualty of war......

here is my best guess as to what went down...

Kiev posts an air defense battery in the area because Moscow has threatened airstrikes and cruise missile attacks after a series of cross border shellings, one of which killed a Russian civilian making this an extremely high tension situation and a disaster waiting to happen.

for reasons unknown, intentionally or unintentionally putting the aircraft in danger, Kiev flight control orders the 777 to change it's flight path over Donetsk, an area where most airlines have been avoiding. at which point the BUK's radar detects an aircraft flying over what is supposed to be restricted airspace and without using proper IFF procedure, again intentionally or unintentionally, fires on the civilian aircraft shooting it down.

then the propaganda machine swings into action like always, without providing any proof or evidence blames the eastern separatists and Russia despite the glaring fact that neither would gain anything by committing this act and stand to lose a great deal if this farce is accepted as fact and goes unchallenged.

the only real mystery to be solved, as I see it, is did the Ukrainian military intentionally shoot down the 777, or was it truly an accident and a case of "never let a crises go to waste" ?

It would fit in with my 'fkc-up' theory. Kiev denying having these missiles in the area, when their troops had been photographed with them only a few days before, might well be a clue....
