An orphaned 30-day-old echidna puggle was rescued from a walking track at Anna Bay, Australia, after presumably falling out of its mother's pouch

I didn't even know there WAS such an animal as an echidna puggle - what a wonderful name.

Re: You couldn't make it up....
Echidna is a mammal who lay eggs, the puggle is what they call the baby, as I recall the only other egg laying mammal is a platypus. Cute! LL

Pass!!!! Looks like a load of dogdirt, as most 'new' remakes turn out to be. I liked the original, this, just from the trailer, gets a thumbs down. LL

It could be worse; at least they've kept it in the 'sixties. When I heard it was being remade, I feared it was going to be set NOW.

I don't care if they set it in the Roaring Twenties or 2500, it will still be a load of cr*p. LLbb1 wrote:It could be worse; at least they've kept it in the 'sixties. When I heard it was being remade, I feared it was going to be set NOW.

Re: You couldn't make it up....
Oh yes!!
Last night I was reading about it, as I know where the fire was. It was stated that a resident said the fire alarm went off at 2.05am.
"There have been three fire alarms every week recently and all were false. This time I heard it and said it must be false. But then I smelt smoke. I took my wallet and ran down along with my wife. We live on the 59th floor. "
I know of many stories of fire alarms going off whenever anyone is cooking, from as recent as two years ago. The alarms are frequently sited above the hobs.
When one occupant's alarm goes off, all alarms in the building go off too.
It also happened that the electricity is shut down and elevators stop working as a consequence. I don't know if that part has now changed. This leads to people thinking its a false alarm.......
Building regulations are obviously different out there......

Re: You couldn't make it up....
It's not just there, Lily, it's common for smoke detectors in new builds in the UK to be put in the kitchen. So, burned toast has set them off a few times, the battery gets taken out......
This one seems to have started outside, though, in the inflammable cladding? Nice touch, that! I don't think that would be allowed here.

This is a true story, my neighbor's swimming pool's electrical wiring was wrong. In fact, if he had jumped in the pool before this fault was found, he may have been killed. Someone else in Dubai was.
They use many poor Indian people to do this work when they don't have the complete know how.....
They have been in a hurry to get this city built and sometimes corners were cut by not always using the most knowledgable workers.

Delays on M74 after dog 'drives tractor' on carriageway
Don was unhurt after riding the tractor on to the busy M74 motorway
Delays were caused on a busy stretch of motorway earlier "due to a dog taking control of a tractor".
The bizarre incident was reported by Traffic Scotland at J13 of the M74 near Abington in South Lanarkshire.
It later emerged that a sheepdog called Don, owned by a local farmer, had leaned on the controls of a tractor, taking it from a field on to the road.
Police and the farmer later recovered Don, who was unhurt, and the tractor, from the central reservation.
Traffic Scotland caused a stir on social media when it tweeted at about 08:45 on Wednesday that it was "not joking" about the incident.
"M74 (N) J13-RTC due to dog taking control of tractor... nope, not joking. Farmer and police at scene, vehicle in central res."
Dog puns
Shortly afterwards the transport body provided an update: "M74 (N) at J13 - Route is clear from earlier incident and dog is fine. Has to be the weirdest thing we have ever reported! No delays in area."
Police said the only details they had on the incident were that a vehicle had gone through a fence near the motorway at around 8.15am.
The incident led to plenty of dog puns as people responded to Traffic Scotland's tweets.
Tony T wrote: "Police investigating, so far no leads," while Beverley Friend added: "This is barking."
Michelle Muirhead asked: "Will the dog have points on his licence? Was he breathalysed? Did police arrest him?"
