Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
So funny - the sex-obsessed frutcake Textusa is arguing with Bennett too now - yet another of those tedious, pointless, angels-on-a-pinhead disputes they are so fond of.
Still, it keeps the haters and hounders out of mischief, gives them less time to abuse normal people.

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
Christ, I'm almost tempted to buy it. This from a person who has known for years what makes her feel ill but still goes on eating it. Anything for a Chip Sandwich, which will leave me with a hangover without the benefit of alcohol.
Sorry, sorry. A minor glip. But she isn't entirely wrong.

If following her diet makes you look like a gargoyle (as she does) the it should carry a govenment health warning. LLbb1 wrote:All 'miracle diets' come down to five words in the end.

And nothing short of a miracle is ever going to change what's inside her nasty, duplicitous head. IMO, of course.

I apologise to any gargoyle I have offended, a garbage scow or Thames dredger might have been a better choice. LLbb1 wrote:And nothing short of a miracle is ever going to change what's inside her nasty, duplicitous head. IMO, of course.

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
I doubt that she is going to get a lot of 99 Pences. But every little helps.
I do relate to her in some small ways, but I learned a long time ago that brevity is best. Potential writers do tend to bulk out what they do with inconsequential rubbish, but if you have read as much as I have then you can spot it a mile off. Content is what matters. Which is probably why I have never written a book.
I do Blog, but only infrequently. And never about The McCanns. Although I might one day.

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
Having worked with lots of famous professional writers at the very top of their trees, I can spot great and poor writing when I feel so inclined.
People like Bennett are a waste of time as is Mutton especially when she speaks of 'honing her craft'. They can write to their hearts content just so long as they don't inflict it on this forum. They are poles apart from people like those above.
Love your comment LL.

She and Bennett really should stick to boring each other to death. It's bizarre, the way he seems to be a magnet for obsessive madwomen.

I DON'T know if #Corbyn failed abuse survivors. I DO know he's anti-austerity & his own party is behaving like right wing press towards him.
Cristobell Author @RosalindaHu 22h22 hours ago
@StephenLees4 @ShellyAsquith @chunkymark Times have changed, cruel tory cuts will drive folk Left. #Jeremy4Leader
If those two half-wits are supporting Corbyn, then he's either a wrong 'un of some kind or other, or he's doomed to failure.

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
Corbyn is far left, pro-republican UK. LL
Corbyn has stated his preference for Britain to become a republic, but that he recognises that is not a major political issue at the present time. In 1991, Corbyn seconded the Commonwealth of Britain Bill brought forward by Tony Benn, which called for the transformation of the United Kingdom into a "democratic, federal and secular Commonwealth of Britain", with an elected President ....

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
He's also been the MP for Luvvie Central, Islington, for the last THIRTY TWO YEARS - he doesn't exactly mix with the common herd. Except when he's making right-on speeches at them, of course.
Not really to my taste - I prefer my politicians a bit more grounded in reality, frankly.
Happily, it's no skin off my nose which chancer gets elected to lead Labour, but the infighting is, as ever, entertaining.

Yes, agreed Bonny. But what has the poor chap done to deserve Sonia and Christobell's "kiss of death" support?

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
Mornning, J-P, possibly they like him because he is a died-in-the-wool far left anti-monarchy republican, a close mate of the late unlamented Tony Benn and therefore anti-establishment? Kiss of death is a good description! LLJean-Pierre.t50 wrote:Yes, agreed Bonny. But what has the poor chap done to deserve Sonia and Christobell's "kiss of death" support?

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
Those two aren't very bright, LL, so if Corbyn makes right-on, keeping it real, speeches to the masses, that's all they will look at. They won't look at the fact that for over thirty years, he's occupied just about the only seat in the UK that's safe for that particular kind of showbiz socialist.
It won't even bother them that a child abuse scandal that is almost worse than Rochdale happened right under his left-wing nose, and was covered up by the local Labour party.
But hey, he knows what's best for the masses.

Just wait till he bans the sale of £90, gold polka dot diaries because they exploit polka dot miners in Upper Volta, or something, Sabot.

Didn't they try that with Cromwell? I can't remember if it was a success or not. I only remember The Witch Finder General. What happened to him?

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
The one and only time Britain tried being a republic was an unmitigated disaster, Sabot. Cromwell spread misery, woe and death everywhere, especially in Ireland and Scotland, and shipped many people, including children, out to the New World as slaves.
He also banned Christmas because people enjoyed it. After his most welcome death, his hapless son (so much for hereditary rule!) tried to run things, and was totally useless.
So, enter Charles II, and one of the most, er, fun-filled, reigns ever.
Someone always has to cut ribbons, act as Head of State, etc., and well-behaved monarchs generally do a better job of the ceremonials than power-crazed politicians that do things like making themselves Ruler for Life.

Re: Bennett set up by harpies?
The whole 'witch' hysteria was mainly the fault of James VI and I, Sabot, with the help of some bigoted, superstitious clergymen in the Bennett mould.
