As for his 'financial capabilities' - his long, long trail of debt-dodging, from before the McCanns ever had the misfortune to hear his name, is a matter of court record in Portugal.

As is his civil conviction for attempting to defraud his own brother. None of this is any secret in Portugal - why do they think his 'support' in Portugal is mainly from the Brit ex-pat community?

It's been explained, repeatedly, by gofundme and others, that the reason the Scrounge Fund vanished was that it was no longer linked to a legitimate FB account, therefore could no longer be verified as being kosher.

Word reaches this forum that none other than Amaral's wife is a member of 'HDH Controversy Of...' , using a sock account.
How interesting.
We've long suspected Hoho's is little more than a front for Amaral; disseminating 'anti' McCann propaganda, rattling the tin to fund his appeal, and ruthlessly expunging any dissent, but this is the first we've heard of a direct link.
According to my source, Lizzy and some admin are also in direct contact with her.
I suppose this shouldn't come as too much of a shock, given that Joana Morais has never made any secret of her links to Amaral, and that Morais is friends with Hoho personnel, but it's telling both sides have chosen to keep it hidden.
If true, it does explain several things.
The first rule of Hoho's is that no 'negative comment' about Amaral is allowed on the forum, even if it happens to be factual rather than opinion.
It also explains why Lizzy continues to prostrate herself before him, as though he's some sort of Middle Eastern potentate, posting with nauseating obsequiousness; 'Mr. Amaral - thank you for your dedication despite all the challenges you had to suffere! (sic) You are a true prophet of justice and truth. God bless you.'

And it's why Queen Hoho, together with admins Helen Kirsty Antcliff and Isabel Oliveira have been out spinning like tops this morning about the latest Mirror story, which centres on Wojciech Krokowski. Just at the time Amaral's appeal is being considered, a story appears about one of the undoubted errors of his investigation, which points away from the McCanns. And in their indecent haste to rubbish the idea Krokowski has questions to answer, suddenly Hoho's believe OG's explanation that Tannerman was a tourist with a sleeping child after all. This is after branding Jane Tanner a liar for the past 8 years.
You couldn't make it up!
The latest person to be branded an accomplice of the McCanns is Adam Aspinell of The Mirror. There are dark mutterings that Krokowski's 'reputation must be destroyed so that his credibility is affected.'
Somehow, in the strange inverted world of Hoho's, it's OK to casually impugn the integrity of a journalist, but not to question a man for taking photos of other people's children.
And that's before you even consider the evidence of witness Nuno Lourenco - that Krokowski's photos of children were being taken 'covertly', before (according to Lourenco) he tried to snatch his daughter who bore a close resemblance to Madeleine.
Krokowski's story remains deeply unconvincing, as do Lizzy and Amaral's; that they simply want 'justice for Madeleine'.


There is no way for outsiders to know for sure, of course, but it would certainly explain a great deal.
