According to a source from the GNR of Bucelas, the discovery of a bag with a corpse by the GNR occurred after a group of young people who were doing mountain biking in a vacant lot, giving the alert, by 17:05 hours. The two young men were surprised the smell coming from the bag and called his father, who immediately alerted the authorities.

The same source added that the body was inside a plastic bag, "badly treated", "all molded the mail" and unrecognizable state and already in "heightened state of putrefaction" and therefore not realized it was a man or woman.

The JN also learned that the suitcase was a hole with top by rocks.

On site were two operating picket the GNR and yet the Judicial Police.

The body was transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine by 21:15 hours. It is now awaiting the autopsy report.

Why on EARTH would the present-day PJ be thanking some UK hater for raising money for the disgraced ex-cop that so blackened their name, and that of Portugal?

Last I heard, they were trying to get Gonzo's pension and old boy perks stopped, because he's dragged them through the mud.

Thankfully, I doubt if there is a word of truth in Freedumb's ramblings, otherwise the whole PJ investigation is liable to be derailed.

Identified dead body found in suitcase

Man was missing since August.

The Judicial Police have identified the man who was found dead inside a suitcase, last Saturday in Fontelas, Slate, Loures. And the CM found, this is a man already advanced in years who had been missing since last month of August. Their disappearance was attended by the daughter of GNR. It was the autopsy performed on Tuesday at the Institute of Forensic Medicine which has lead to the identification of the victim. In view precisely the autopsy, there is no doubt that the man was murdered. The case is handed over to the Homicide Section of the Criminal Police of Lisbon, which now retraces the life of the man and looking for the perpetrators within your circle of acquaintances. It is recalled that the body was found on Saturday afternoon by a group of young people who practiced mountain biking. Dear friends,

Since it was started on April 29, 2015, by Leanne Baulch, the gofundme page dedicated to Gonçalo Amaral's defence has collected donations in excess of 50 thousand pounds. These funds have been transferred to the bank account that is held by Dr Paulo Sargento and other friends of Mr Amaral. Less than half of this amount has been spent on legal expenses for the defence of Gonçalo Amaral.

The Paypal account that is associated to the bank account has received over 6 thousand euro during the same period. Donations totaling a smaller amount have also been made directly to the bank account.

We believe that it is time to close the gofundme page, as the bank account currently stands at an amount that seems largely sufficient to face eventual future expenses.

As we await the verdict of the Appellate Court of Lisbon on the appeal that has been filed by Mr Amaral's lawyer, the remaining funds will be kept in the bank account. They will be used if necessary in the future. Any unused funds will, as we stated in 2009, be donated to a Portuguese children's charity.

May we use this moment to wholeheartedly thank those who have expressed their support of Gonçalo Amaral's right to an appropriate defence? Whether you have contributed financially or by sending a support message - you have made an impact. You have made a difference.
