Cologne police have reportedly launched an investigation into the cops who leaked internal reports of mass harassment and sex assaults on New Year's Eve to the media. The press only learned about the outrageous attacks four days after the incidents.
According to Süddeutsche Zeitung, police recently launched an investigation to find those who had spread the "secret" information without permission. The authorities are determined to find out how internal police reports became public.

"A collection of materials is currently under way, the police are conducting an internal investigation," a spokesman for the Cologne prosecutor’s office told Süddeutsche Zeitung

The Cologne police tried to deceive the public until the information from insiders leaked to the media, the Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten (DWN) daily reported. Describing the investigation into the case as an "absurd measure," the newspaper added that the authorities probably have nothing more important to do than search for the whistleblowers. "Without the leaks from the police, the extent of the orgy would not have become known,” it stressed.

According to DWN, the police officer who revealed the real state of affairs during the New Year's Eve celebrations in Cologne has not hurt the police. "The [real] damage has been caused by those who told tales out of opportunistic motives and presented the reality in pictured reality a distorted way. They not only caused the damage to the police, but to the public as well," the article said, adding that the whistleblower who exposed the Cologne attacks is actually a real "hero."...etc.

Quite. They would be better employed arresting and deporting the ficki-fickis, instead of trying to sweep this under the carpet yet again.

Other government sources told the Munich-based newspaper that ministers are reckoning with up to 3.6 million refugees living in Germany by 2020.

That's likely to gobble up all of the record €19.4 billion surplus the government took in last year in taxes - and possibly even mean cuts to budgets elsewhere.

The entire surplus is "by law completely reserved for financing the refugee crisis," Spahn said.

Eyewitness Artur Manzhesov told RT he couldn’t believe that the decapitated child’s head being carried by the woman was real.

“I saw her coming out with the head in her hands. I thought, wow, it must be a replica,” he said.

The man says he heard the perpetrator shouting: “Allahu Akbar… The Russians will be hanged like this. The Russians will be slaughtered.”

The woman was dressed in black “like Muslims,” but her face was open, Manzhesov recalled.

“I thought she just went mad… When I saw the head I started shaking… I saw the child’s face and blood coming from it. It was very scary,” he said.

Russia’s Investigative Committee later released a statement that rescuers have found a body of a three or four-year-old child after extinguishing a fire in a Moscow apartment block. A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a children’s nanny in her late 30s, who is a citizen of a “Central Asian country.”

The suspect waited until the child’s parents left the apartment with an older child, then killed the child and set the apartment on fire, the Investigative Committee said.

The mother of the murdered child was taken to hospital in unconscious after she learned the news, Russia’s Zvezda TV channel reported.

Three people are suspected of murder after the victim was stabbed in the throat.

Police have arrested all three men. Two suspects were detained when police first arrived at the centre, located 200 kilometres west of Stockholm.

The third man ran into the woods but was tracked down by police and arrested at 10.30am. Police described the arrest as undramatic.

"There has been and will continue to be feverish activity at the site. Technicians are in place to secure evidence," police spokesman Stefan Wickberg told SVT.

Police were alerted to the attack shortly after 5am. The victim was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries at around 9.30am.

It is not yet known what sparked the attack that led to what was the third murder at a Swedish asylum centre this year

Police in Östersund in northern Sweden have warned women about being out on their own after dark, but the city's mayor has trashed the idea.

Officers in Östersund held a press conference on Monday, explaining that there had been at least six reports of violence against women in the area since February 20th.

"Now the police are going out and warning women against travelling alone in the city. We have seen a worrying trend," regional police chief Stephen Jerand told Swedish media.

"This is serious, we care about the protection of women and that is why we are going out and talking about this."

He explained that the recent reported crimes included an attempted rape in the centre of Östersund over the weekend. Police later added that they were also investigating the alleged molestation of a 10-year-old girl at a bus station.

However the force's recommendation that women should avoid being alone at night swiftly prompted criticism in Sweden, a nation that prides itself on promoting gender equality.

"The solution can never be to not go out because of such a warning. We have very many women who work in home and social care at night for example. What are they supposed to do?" the city's mayor Ann-Sofie Andersson told Swedish broadcaster SVT.

The politician, who represents the government's Social Democrat party at a regional level, said she wished police had told her about their intentions before issuing the warning.

Meanwhile Johan Hedin, legal affairs spokesman for one of Sweden's opposition groups, the Centre Party, argued that the move could end up scaring women.

"It's wrong if it calls on women to adapt to the criminals. It risks leading people the wrong way, if the victims must adapt to the perpetrators," he said....etc.

Police in Cologne arrested six men - five of them refugees - for a suspected sex attack on a 12-year-old girl at a city swimming pool.
Officers said the girl approached a lifeguard at the pool in the Zündorf district of the city at 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon claiming she was indecently touched by a man near the water slide.
The girl claimed the man and his friends caused a 'traffic jam' on the slide where he then took the opportunity to grope at her bikini top and bottom.

Exit polls in German regional elections show significant success for the right-wing AfD party, which received enough votes to get into three state legislatures. Merkel’s conservative CDU party suffered losses in two out of three state elections.
AfD (Alternative for Germany) party secured 22 percent in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt, making it the second largest party after the ruling CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany), which won 30 percent.

According to early figures from Baden-Württemberg, AfD managed to win 13 percent of the ballots to come in third, after the state’s ruling Green Party with the most votes, and CDU, which took second place.

Figures for Rhineland Palatinate also put AfD in the third place, while CDU lost its majority to Social-Democrats, securing only 33 percent against their 37.5, the ZDF exit poll indicated.
