The Disciplinary Unit of the Judicial Police asks for the suspension of Paulo Pereira Cristóvão , Goncalo Amaral and three inspectors of the PJ case of alleged involvement in attacks on Leonor Cipriano, condemned by the death and concealment of the corpse of her daughter, Joan, in 2004

Now, while they are both out of the force they so disgraced, they still have their pensions and privileges as former officers removed for bringing disgrace on the PJ.

The PJ are going to hang Gonc out to dry.

Important thing - this is coming from the PJ, not Evil Team McCann - unless the nutjobs are now going to claim the PJ are IN IT.

Another know-nothing moron; the rest of the world knows that the torture was found to be proven - twice - by the Portuguese courts.

Which is why Gonc has gotten Portugal reported to the UN Human Rights committee - as well as himself mentioned in an Amnesty report.

Lawyer Sues State Joana's mother at the UN

Leonor Cipriano's lawyer presented the High Commissioner for Human Rights complaint against the Portuguese government for torture against the stepfather and mother of Joan, missing child in 2004 in the village of Figueira, Portimão, Algarve.

Marcos Aragão Correia said in a statement sent to media that "in last Tuesday, May 17, followed, via registered mail," the complaint "formal practice of brutal torture against the child's mother and stepfather Joana Cipriano," Leandro Silva.
The lawyer added that "this is the first time lodged a complaint at the United Nations of its kind against Portugal, and all other processes prior citizens against Portugal for practicing similar violations were filed in the European Court of Human Rights" .
"We believe that this unprecedented process in the UN against the Portuguese state will result in a greater internationalism of the case of the disappearance of Joana Cipriano, leading to an increase in pressure, the Portuguese authorities to reopen the process and finally investigate the case in a scientific way and correct, "he said.
Joana Cipriano disappeared on September 12, 2004 and Leonor Cipriano and her brother and uncle of the girl, John Cipriano, were convicted in March 2006 to 16 years in prison each on charges of murder and concealment of a body.
The case went to court in 2008, Joana's mother accused five current and former inspectors of the Judicial Police (PJ), a process involving crimes of torture, failure to report and document forgery.

The May 22, 2009, the Court of Faro has not determined the perpetrators of assault and acquitted of torture former inspectors Paulo Pereira Christovao and Leonel Marques Morgado and the agent still in active Paulo Marques Bom, but sentenced for other crimes Gonçalo Amaral already retired PJ, and Antonio Nunes Cardoso, still in office in PJ.
Acquitted of the crime of Failure to report, Gonçalo Amaral appealed to the Évora's condemnation of one year and a half for the crime of making false allegations, on probation for the same period.
The inspector António Cardoso, who was sentenced to two years and three months for forgery, on probation for the same period, also appealed.
The March 18, 2011, the Court of Appeal declined to grant the Evora features of the two inspectors of the Judicial Police (PJ) and decided to keep the ruling of first instance.
