Just lets suppose the others have settled, that would mean that they agreed that they had committed Libel by repeating Libel that Gonc committed. If you see what I mean.

Perhaps he has decided to act for The Lovely Sofia. Conflict of Interest and all that. And she is looking like a much better bet at the moment. Half of Gonc's property and a possible Kiss and Tell in the pipeline.

If the real reason is one of distance, then may I suggest that preparatory work can be conducted by telephone and email. I understand that meetings between lawyer and client are valuable. Given the importance of the case, and if Amaral is able to humble himself enough to use public transport, then a return ticket from Lisbon to Faro can be purchased for around 45 euros. So he could have two meetings with Cabrita for an outlay of perhaps 100 euros.

I respectfully submit that financial considerations are not the reason for the parting of the ways between lawyer and client.

Do I detect in Claudias increasingly deperate posts that all is not well in the Amaral camp.......

Possible reasons?

1. he doesn't like the set up
2. he is worried about how, if a lot of dodgy dealing/dirt etc comes to light, this will impact on his standing and career
3. he knows someone is lying
4. he just doesn't want to be part of Gonc's Circus
5. he is covering his back if the whole thing blows wide open and the PJ are proved to have been involved in the leaks

Probably many other reasons could be put forward .... but the problem is we know nothing other than the lawyer has done a runner. We can speculate till the cows come home, but until Gonc or the lawyer reveal the reason for the split we might just as well sit back and enjoy the view, oh, and watch the Goncettes try and find ways of making this look normal! I suspect that the others in this Case have conceded that they repeated and broadcast the Libel committed by Goncalo Amaral, and that Cabrita has told him he is a dead duck.

Given that Amaral would be legally aided, I would have thought the Amaral fund could stump up the cost of rail travel.

At least £3,000. Bennett has donated £1,000 of whatever was in Gonc's Defence Fund to aid him in his penury. But no one is saying how much there is left, which is hardly transparent, is it.
