ShuBob - thats exactly what I meant. the McCanns are masters of photo opportunities and Amaral receiving a load of letters isn't the most interesting picture so something(s) visually attractive would help plus maybe someone well known and/or attractive handing over the cards and gifts to him. Has he any well known supporters?

Well, there are one or two, but I think the correct word is actually 'notorious'. And I'm none too sure about the 'visually attractive', either......

The McCanns have to prove that Gonçalo Amaral committed libel. AFAIK, in libel cases here in Portugal the claimant and defendent are not questioned in court and they are not required to attend. I find it interesting that most of the witnesses for the McCanns will be testifying by video conference, I guess that they really couldn't be bothered to make the trip to Portugal or the parents didn't want to pay for their flights and accommodation.

The McCanns have to prove that Gonçalo Amaral committed libel.

It'll be a quick court case then, won't it?

It was fascinating, Greenink. They simply have no grasp of reality whatsoever. It's as if they have made up all these nasty little stories in their heads, and can't understand why the rest of the human race won't play along with them.

That is such a stupid statement that it shows that hounder to be completely lacking understanding of the nature of libel. Nothing new there then. They are so stupid that every post and tweet they make simply demonstrates that fact. Don't they even realise when they are showing themselves up.

I don't think they do, Greenink. They have created an alternate reality with two-dimensional characters they call 'Gerry' and 'K8' and they worship an entity they call 'Dr Amaral'. They all follow a strange, convoluted script full of bizarre, imagined conspiracies. They project all their own weaknesses and sins onto these 'McCann' characters they have invented.

They are too lost in their dark, sick world to see how wrong, and in the wrong, they are.

The truth is very simple - Madeleine McCann was abducted, Amaral made a dog's breakfast of the investigation, and has conducted a vendetta against the McCann family ever since.

That's ALL of the McCann family, because he has hurt Madeleine McCann more than any of the other victims of his bitterness.

.I think a large bag - or several - and a large bunch of flowers would be good. Especially if it was clear how many letters or cards were there in total. Also that a lot will come from GB (Great Britain that is not GB)

I can vouch for up to twenty by getting friends and relatives to send one, I'll do that by getting the cards and stamps myself and shoving them under their noses to sign and address....

Amaral has said in the past there are things that have not been made public. He knows, or has a very good idea, of what exactly happened......blah blah blah....

So, why hasn't he said anything, then? Why is he now resident on his elderly father's couch? Why is he persona non grata everywhere except the Dear Julia show?

Why did he choose to keep silent about all these things he knows during the Faro hearing? If he'd spoken up then, he might not have been stuck with the entire court costs - including Ms Duarte's fee.

His fan club are going to have to face the truth.

There is no Ace for Gonc to play. There are no secret things he will only reveal when the time is right. He's just an empty vessel.

This morning I am worried; something isn't right in the account of the events:

I wonder why he doesn't mention that, on Friday 4th May, the good people of Portugal were reading all about how he himself was being made an ARGUIDO because of his alleged involvement (now proven) in the torture of the mother of another missing child?

Odd him missing that bit out, because it's rather important to the famed Bigger Picture.

But he hadn't even had an account of events by the morning of the 4th of May. He can't possibly have spoken to The GNR or The PJ in any depth, especially since he had other things on his mind.
And he certainly hadn't spoken to The McCanns or visited The Crime Scene.
He was trying to make himself sound like Hercules Poirot. Pity about the lack of little grey cells.

'Many thousands' are there? Well, that's easily checked. Let's see how Morais' We Love Gonc petition is going. It's been kicking around since 2009 so there must be tens - nay, hundreds of thousands of sigs by now.

@SafariSara Amaral was convicted for REPEATING what his officers told him #McCann He could not lie, as he was not there at the time.

He was, actually, and the court knew it. Why else do they think he was convicted, the conviction held up on appeal, and reinforced recently in Faro when the judge, prosecutor and defence wiped the floor with him.

I wonder if he has paid Ms Duarte's fees yet? He was ordered to, by the judge.

She means that The Portuguese Courts convicted Amaral on Hearsay and Lies. Doesn't say much for his chances in The Libel Trial, does it.
