Give it time, Sabot.  As we will have to be wearing it most of the time we are outdoors anyway.  We will want different looks.

Nope, we all are. From Pedro's links, they seem to be making half-hearted efforts in the UK, but I suspect that's just to make it look as if they know what they're doing.

Oh well, maybe the Kardashians have better ideas.  

The President of the US' first duty is to protect and keep the citizens safe.  I assume that is also for your Dear Leader to do?

According to The Mail, Ebola is in the sputum, but it's not airborne as yet.

It would, IMO, help no end if assorted governments and 'experts' simply told the truth, if they said, We've screwed up, we're not as clever as we pretend, this contagion is very dangerous, here's what you need to do to protect yourself.

Unfortunately, that shower of proven liars saying, Don't panic! is simply making things worse.

How long will it be before they can no longer cover the truth up?

As far as I can see, the big mistake was the attitude - "It's an African problem, let them deal with it" when it first started.  Had sufficient aid and expertize been immediately rushed to Sierra Leone and Liberia there was maybe a chance it would be contained.   It has before in earlier outbreaks.   LL

I hadn't realised that Germany was treating three cases; I hope the legendary German efficiency prevails, and that they haven't been stricken with the complacency seen in Dallas and Spain.

Around 200 airport workers responsible for cleaning aircraft walked off the job today. The workers say airports are not keeping them safe from the possibility of infection.

You know what, I can't blame them at this point.

I don't either, Lily, especially as there is no common sense or leadership from the top.

This may be the start of more people walking off their jobs where they don't feel protected?

A British man who was suspected of contracting Ebola has died in Macedonia, Reuters reports citing a senior Macedonian official.

The official added that a second British national had shown symptoms of the deadly virus.

11:57 GMT:
The condition of Teresa Romero - the Spanish nurse with Ebola - has deteriorated, Reuters reports citing a hospital official.

"Her clinical situation has deteriorated but I can't give any more information due to the express wishes of the patient," said Yolanda Fuentes, an official at the Carlos III hospital.

The official did not provide further details.

None of this is good, and the complacency of our 'leaders' isn't helping.

Stoking fears of an inevitable Ebola spread, Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, said this week that “the there is no way we can keep Ebola [contained] in West Africa.”

He added that while many Western Hemisphere nations can handle an Ebola outbreak, if the virus appears in Central American countries like Honduras or El Salvador, he expects many people to head north for the US.

“If it breaks out, it’s literally, ‘Katie bar the door,’ and there will be mass migration into the United States,” Kelly said. “They will run away from Ebola, or if they suspect they are infected, they will try to get to the United States for treatment.”
