German Interior Minister de Maiziere has announced a stricter refugee policy that would return most Afghan migrants. He also called for a swifter deportation of asylum seekers from the Balkans.

On Wednesday, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere announced that most asylum seekers from Afghanistan and "tens of thousands" from the Balkans will be sent back, in a toughening of Germany's refugee policy.
"The number of repatriations, voluntary returns and deportations will rise significantly," de Maiziere expects.
More migrants are now coming to Europe from Afghanistan than any country other than Syria, a situation that de Maiziere deemed "unacceptable." Among them, he noted, are many members of the middle class and residents of the Afghan capital Kabul who "should remain and help build the country up."
De Maiziere added said that the Afghan government shared this view.
Germany has recently announced an extension of its troop commitment in Afghanistan in the NATO attempt to maintain a stable state there.....etc.

Sweden to keep shelter for asylum seekers secret

The Swedish Migration Agency has decided to keep the locations of refugee housing facilities secret, following 21 being torched since March.

Yesterday, the municipality of Danderyd, a town located north of Stockholm, announced that a new residence for 70 asylum seekers will be opened in November, in facilities that previously belonged to a public school. But around 2AM this morning (28 October), the building was set alight.

On Tuesday (27 October), a building that was meant to be used for refugee accommodations in Färingtofta, in southern Sweden, was likewise destroyed in an arson attack.

In order to prevent more fires, the Migration Agency has decided to make it harder for the public to locate the addresses of planned homes for asylum seekers. This means that 66,000 residences will be kept a secret.

"The level of security has deteriorated and it's worrying with all these fires. We will keep the residences a secret so that they won't become common knowledge," said Willis Åberg, operations manager at the Migration Agency, according to Radio Sweden.

"We want to be a transparent authority, but in this case we believe it's better not to be so open in order to limit the risks," he continued.

Hoping to combat the disproportionate number of rapes committed by immigrants and their descendants, a number of political parties are pushing for sexual education to be included in the Danish language courses provided to foreigners, Metroxpress reported.

Between 2013 and 2014, 34.5 percent of all individuals convicted of rape were immigrants or their descendants despite those groups only accounting for roughly 12 percent of Denmark’s total population.

The parties supporting the proposal point to the success of a similar programme in Norway, where asylum centre residents are given a voluntary five-hour course aimed at preventing sexual assaults. The class teaches asylum seekers and refugees that when women go out drinking alcohol or dress in revealing clothing, it is not an invitation to sex.

Linda Hagen, who runs 34 asylum centres for the Norwegian refugee business Hero Norge, told The Local that the programme had been introduced after a string of sexual offences committed by refugees near one of its centres.

“We had some problems in Stavanger because some of the refugees had sexually violent episodes with Norwegian girls in the centre of the town,” she said. “So the police, the immigration department and Hero Norge launched a project to teach refugees about Norwegian behaviour.”

Hagen explained that men from sexually conservative countries often struggled to understand how to interpret the behaviour of young Scandinavian women.

“It’s difficult if you come from a country where women never go out,” she said. “When you see a girl with a short skirt dancing at a party late in the evening, what kind of message will it give you?”

“It’s important to tell them that this kind of behaviour or clothing doesn’t mean that it’s allowed for you to go the whole way. If a girl says ‘no’, it’s a ‘no’.”

Danish People’s Party (DF) spokesman Peter Skaarup said the same concept should be brought to Denmark.

“If they’ve done something in Norway that works, we should just copy it,” he told Metroxpress.

Along with DF, the Social Democrats, Social Liberals (Radikale) and the Conservatives support introducing sex education to Danish language courses.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban accused billionaire investor George Soros of being a prominent member of a circle of "activists" trying to undermine European nations by supporting refugees heading to the continent from the Middle East and beyond.

"His name is perhaps the strongest example of those who support anything that weakens nation states, they support everything that changes the traditional European lifestyle," Orban said in an interview on public radio Kossuth. "These activists who support immigrants inadvertently become part of this international human-smuggling network."

Rights groups have criticized Orban for building a razor-wire fence on the border, tightening asylum laws and boosting his support among voters with anti-immigrant rhetoric. Soros, who was born in Hungary and is one of the biggest philanthropists in eastern Europe via his foundations and university, gives grants to organizations that provide legal assistance to asylum seekers.

The Swedish Foreign Minister has claimed her country is facing collapse due to the mass influx of refugees as the migrant crisis deepens.
Margot Wallstrom has said that Sweden cannot cope with taking in refugees at its current level, without it affecting services.
She says that Stockholm will now have to pressure the European Union in a bid to force other member states to share the burden of those coming from the Middle East, mainly Syria.

It is expected that Sweden will take in around 190,000 migrants by the end of 2015. In the first nine months of the year, more than 73,000 people applied for asylum in Sweden.
And Mrs Wallstrom said in an interview: 'I think most people feel that we cannot maintain a system where perhaps 190,000 people will arrive every year - in the long run, our system will collapse.
