Re: Anti-Corbyn coup fails - so far!
Oh, yes, finally bringing a proud political party to its knees and administering the final coup de grace which will send it into oblivion. Can't say I'm weeping over it! LLDoes anyone know of a Cause that Jezza has actually won?

An old-time Labour politician like Bessie Braddock would have the little weasel for breakfast, and use his ribs as toothpicks.
That's about Jezza's level.

Corbyn team fuels return of union bullies
By Andrew Pierce for the Daily Mail
Published: 01:07 GMT, 29 August 2016 | Updated: 06:27 GMT, 29 August 2016
There are worrying signs that Jeremy Corbyn is intent on leading the Labour Party back to the bad old days of strikes, mass walk-outs and flying pickets.
Last week, he pledged to ‘strengthen trade union power’ — which undoubtedly means mandatory collective bargaining for firms with more than 250 employees.
But many of his team want to go further and change laws that have made it much harder for unions to take part in industrial action and to go on strike.
Among those behind giving more power to the bully-boys is Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell.
Next month, he is due to address the National Shop Stewards Network, an outfit whose primary aim is to co-ordinate strike action between different unions.
According to its website: ‘We aim to build a movement that can help sweep the anti-union laws off the books and make them inoperable in the meantime.’
Another cheerleader for the wreckers is Sean Hoyle, president of the RMT rail union. He has said: ‘We need strong leadership —strong leadership telling our members that if you need to take action, we will take action regardless of what the law is saying.’

I would have thought it was obvious why the CCTV was released.
Corbyn was slagging off Virgin, and lying his Lefty head off while doing it. Can't say it concerns me in the least.

Corbyn accuses Labour officials of suspending party members without explanation
In a letter to Labour’s general secretary Jeremy Corbyn also accused the party of having no appeal process for suspensions
In the letter to Iain McNicol, Corbyn calls for the reason for suspension and name of complainant to be given to the suspended party member.

One member was apparently suspended after posting about her love for the rock band, the Foo Fighters.
I can't even attempt to understand this any more, LL. What on EARTH have the Foo Fighters got to do with it?
PS - don't feel you need to answer, I don't think there actually is an answer. It's like the Bob Crowe anti-ISIS brigade, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Former shadow chancellor Ed Balls has said Jeremy Corbyn's Labour leadership style is a "leftist utopian fantasy".
Mr Balls said Mr Corbyn's approach was "devoid of connection to the reality of people's lives"
That'll be the Red Brigade out for his head. Fortunately for Ed, he is embarking on a second career...
Ed Balls will appear on Strictly Come Dancing
Can't wait to see him dancing to the Foo Fighters!
Please note, I am not making any of this up, I couldn't.

Re: Anti-Corbyn coup fails - so far!
I don't want that scruffy old Trot anywhere near my broadband, thank you very much - the internet is ALREADY democratic.
He will also launch a public consultation to draw up a digital bill of rights, and develop a digital citizen passport – a voluntary scheme that will provide Britons with a secure and portable identity for their online lives.
Really? And how long would it be 'voluntary' for, with him in charge?
Someone should break it gently to Jezza that the fastest broadband in the UK is operated by one R. Branson, and he should remember what happened last time over trains......

Re: Anti-Corbyn coup fails - so far!
Lovely comment in that piece - an insight into the mind of a Corbynista:
Look at the hasbara trolls on here , why don't you all Fu*k off , or independent check their IP address and ban them. They don't add to debate , their serve a predetermined agenda
Why is israel concerned about Corbyn ?? A pacifist , is it because he won't take your money and bow down to you like pretty much every US and Tory politician
Yes, that's the way to make the internet 'democratic'! Someone says something critical of Jezza, so they should be investigated and banned!

My reaction to all that was the UK is a democracy not a Stalinist satellite. I think a hell of a lot of Brits will detach themselves from the internet if they get the slightest whiff of regulation in any sphere. The unwashed idiot is a maniacal neverwas. LL

Re: Anti-Corbyn coup fails - so far!
I wish Mrs May would call a snap election when Parliament goes back, LL. Corbyn and his cult would go down in flames, their incompetent cousins North of the Border would, at the very least, be knocked back a bit further, and we would then get peace from bl**dy politics and politicians for five years.
Have you noticed who ISN'T running round like a lunatic, making increasingly stupid statements? Who ISN'T holding public rallies of the Party faithful? Yes, Mrs May, the actual PM.

Re: Anti-Corbyn coup fails - so far!
She's a well-educative canny politician, she's bide her time until she thinks it is time to call an election. If it was me, I would let Corbyn and co dig an even bigger hole then pounce. Blair, much as I dislike him, would never have put out such a load of drivel, nor threaten, oh sorry that should be offer, my bad, to nationalize all and sundry and regulate 24 hours a day how all Brits exist. Re: Anti-Corbyn coup fails - so far!
Rumour on the political sites is that moderate Labour MPs would back a snap General Election, LL. They know they would lose seats heavily, but Corbyn and his cronies would go down in the carnage. They would then have five years to try to rebuild the Labour party.
UK Elections
@Election_UK
UK General Election Seat Forecast (29th Aug)
CON: 420 (+89)
LAB: 140 (-92)
SNP: 51 (-5)
LD: 12 (+4)
PC: 6 (+3)
UKIP: 3 (+2)
GRN: 2 (+1)
Mrs May has a majority of 12 just now; manageable, but it could be nibbled away by by-elections. A hefty majority would give her peace while Brexit is worked through, and the country stability for the next five years.
Remember, because Cameron changed the rules, she needs to get a 2/3rd majority to call an election.
It would have the added bonus of shutting up Sturgeon, as they are on course to lose at least five seats to the Tories and Lib Dems. Indeed, if the Lib Dems don't blot their copybook again, and just settle for being sane and reasonable, they could start a slow comeback.
Time will, as ever, tell.

Corbyn's Q&A
Jeremy Corbyn is now taking questions.
Q: Would you nationalise the existing broadband network?
Corbyn says he wants to ensure BT still has a duty to provide a universal access. He has an “open mind” about the ownership issue, he says.
Corbyn says he has an “open mind” about nationalising the broadband network.
Corbyn says, as someone who travels a lot on trains, he is also in favour of having broadband access on trains. But this is not a press conference about trains, he says.
I cannot think of anything WORSE than nationalised broadband; he'd have us all back on dial-up speeds.
And doesn't the fool know there is ALREADY wi-fi on trains? And buses too? Does he even know what wi-fi is?

Digital Citizen Passport - We will develop a voluntary scheme that provides British citizens with a secure and portable identity for their on-line activities. The Digital Citizen Passport will be used when interacting with public services like health, welfare, education and housing.
Looks like the Stasi gave him some hints on mass surveillance when he and Abbott were having their romantic break in East Germany.
Massive Multi-Person On-line Deliberation - We will utilise information technologies to make popular participation in the democratic process easy and inclusive. We will aim to organise both online and offline meetings for individuals and communities to deliberate about pressing political issues and participate in devising new legislation.
God Almighty, when did he last look at the internet? It's full of people arguing about politics - and everything else.
Thank God there isn't the slightest danger of the horrid old Trot ever becoming PM.
