Their military isn't known for bothering about Rules of Engagement, etc., so I suspect that if the mujahadeen hadn't had outside help, they would have been flattened by the Soviets. It's a big What if......

The limousine that was set on fire during the anti-Trump anarchist protest in downtown Washington on Inauguration Day is owned by a Muslim immigrant who says the damage could cost his company $70,000.

Muhammad Ashraf, the owner of Nationwide Chauffeur Services, spoke with the Washington Examiner's sister publication, Red Alert Politics, about what happened:

In an exclusive interview with Red Alert Politics, Ashraf said he wasn't a supporter of Donald Trump during his campaign, but Friday's protests were completely counter-productive.

"I have a different point of view," Ashraf told Red Alert. "I did not agree with many of the things he said, but that still does not give me the right to go and affect someone's livelihood."

"[We've] been in business for over 25 years and this is the first time this has happened," Ashraf said.

President Trump has signed an order allowing construction to restart of an oil pipeline through Native American lands in Dakota.

The Dakota Access Pipeline, or DAPL, has sparked major protests near the Standing Rock Sioux Native American Indian reservation over fears it will disturb sacred ground and pollute drinking water.

Barack Obama blocked construction of a disputed segment of the pipeline in December in one of his last acts as President.

But Mr Trump has now signed executive actions to advance the 1,200-mile DAPL and another pipeline, the Keystone XL.

Mr Obama had previously rejected an application for the completion of the Keystone KL project in November 2015.

That should set the cat amongst the pigeons.

It's odd seeing a president that so far, is doing exactly what he said he would do. And in double-quick time, without endless waffling and prevaricating.

Measures still being finalized and subject to change include:
A four-month freeze on admission of all refugees

Grant exceptions to Christians and other minorities fleeing Muslim persecution

Halt visas to people from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen because the Muslim-majority countries are 'terror prone'
The visa bans would last at least 30 days while vetting processes are reviewed
Stop protecting illegal immigrants who arrived in the US as children from deportation

Good; it is utterly shameful that people in REAL danger were being kept out, while armies of aggressive young men were allowed to just walk into Europe - I hope Merkel takes the hint.

And no, islam is not a 'race', it's a belief system.

Unfortunately, LL, I have seen plenty of them - and of the full black bin bag look. The headbag wearers also seem to glower all the time (it's hard to tell with the bin bags). They bear NO resemblance to, say, Hindu women, who sometimes wear traditional robes, and who look lovely - and are friendly and cheerful, in my experience. Hindu ladies also often work and contribute to society - their role in the NHS, for instance, is invaluable.

Maybe Austria is managing to stem the tide of islamic fundamentalism, but the picture isn't so rosy elsewhere.

I know all that. A Muslim friend said some time ago that as long as the radical imams are allowed to preach freely the young will be radicalized. The biggest problem in that more than 50% of these imams are from Pakistan and by the time something happens they have moved on. Here we have no problems with Muslims, they are integrated into the communities, many are descendants of the Ottomans who ruled Hungary for nearly 200 years. LL

It's a shame for all the muslims who have been long-established, I feel, the people we all know whether they're attached to universities, running businesses, etc. They bear no resemblance to these scowling fanatics and are even targetted by them, like that poor shopkeeper in Glasgow who was murdered for being in the wrong sect.
