This pathetic whining and blame-shifting from Flores is making matters WORSE for Gonc - is he seriously saying that the PJ are the only police force in the entire civilized world which is incapable of operating when the media are hanging around?

It's taken for granted in the UK and US that the media will swarm all over high profile cases - does Flores think that those police forces are incapable of operating because there are reporters around?

That statement by Moita Flores is horrendous, and Libellous. Or it would be if the man wasn't dead.

It now looks to me as though Gonc is going for the Cover Up Theory in his Libel Trial, although what that has got to do with a game of soldiers is a bit of a mystery. Gonc got what little evidence there was and completely misinterpreted it. The man is a charlatan.

I think he already has accused them, hasn't he? But this is always the way. They kick off spouting utter rubbish, and then something awful comes out. My only problem is just how much more awful can it get? I am becoming decidedly jaded in my expectations, so it will have to be very horrible to shock me.
However, this is always a possibility.

I am wondering what on earth possessed Flores to do this? Are Team Gonc getting desperate, following their failed attempts to pump out rubbish from Sources from behind the JN paywall?

One contributor proudly proclaimed that the PT Police force was supreme because it was trained by the Nazis. Seems in a few places some of that mentality is stilll around

Like most states that embraced totalitarianism, whether nazi or commie, Portugal is finding it hard to throw off the past. Quite a few states where this was imposed, ie the Eastern Block, have managed to deal with it by revealing the past of members of state institutions as with the Stasi in the old DDR. Until Portugal purges the police who were in place under Salazar, or starts prosecuting such people for crimes committed during his regime, things will not change. These policemen are far from the main cities, they answer only to themselves. LL
