The neighbourhood of Molenbeek, which has been involved in many previous terror attacks, was last night emerging as a key centre of the plot. Belgian prosecutors said that one of the seven killers who died in Paris had been identified as a Frenchman living in Molenbeek, which is described by one expert as “the capital of political Islam in continental Europe.” A second attacker lived in or close to the district.
As a wave of new arrests was made in the area on Sunday, Belgium’s interior minister, Jan Jambon, admitted to VRT television that “we don’t have control of the situation in Molenbeek at present” and said the authorities needed to “clean up” the area.

Fingerprints from one of the terrorists, who mounted the attack at the Stade de France in Paris, seem to match the prints of a Syrian man registered in Greece in October, a Paris prosecutor said.

"At this stage, while the authenticity of a passport in the name of Ahmad al Mohammad, born September 10 1990 in Idlib, Syria needs to be verified, there are similarities between the fingerprints of the suicide bomber and those taken during [passport] control in Greece in October," the prosecutor added.

The Paris prosecutor has confirmed the identities of five terrorists responsible for Friday’s attacks, BFMTV reported. One was identified as Samy Amimour, born in 1987 in Drancy, a northeastern suburb of Paris. He was known to anti-terrorist services, having previously been indicted October 19, 2012.

The raids in the city of Lyon in east-central France have resulted in at least five arrested and seizure of weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades, French BFMTV reported.

Investigators have identified the sponsor behind the Paris attacks as Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, a Belgian native, France RTL radio said.

Abaaoud was reportedly one of the most active Islamic State executioners in Syria. He is believed to be from the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek, the same area where another suspect in the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam, was raised.

On a side note, in the US talking heads are discussing what the US must do now.  They keep bringing up O's statements that ISIS was contained and he is looking rather silly at this time.

Lily, if Obama was answerable to a Parliamentary system, he'd have been gone long ago - his abuse of power has brought the office of POTUS itself into disrepute.

France is to call for an effective suspension of the Schengen Agreement on open borders across Europe this week, as it demands other European nations begin border identity checks inside Europe’s free movement zone, diplomatic sources have confirmed to The Telegraph.
The radical step follows the Friday-night massacre in Paris and will lead French proposals at an emergency meeting of EU interior ministers in Brussels on Friday.

“The French are going to push hard for everyone else to institute border controls, particularly Belgium, but across the wider euro area. To all intents and purposes it will be a temporary suspension of Schengen,” the source said....etc.

Which, with any luck, will become permanent.

A new Islamic State video has warned that countries taking part in Syria airstrikes will suffer the same fate as France, which was hit with multiple attacks on Friday. It specifically threatens an attack on Washington.

A man in the video states that just as the center of France was hit by terror attacks on Friday, the US capital of Washington DC will suffer the same outcome at the hands of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the video, Reuters reported.

ISIS claimed responsibility for attacks in Paris on Friday which left 129 people dead and 352 others wounded. Seven of the attackers blew themselves up, and police have been searching intensively for accomplices.

The assaults were the worst to take place on French soil since World War II.

Hopefully it's just hot air, but if anything did happen, Obama would doubtless want to pray for the terrorists as they aren't typical of the Religion of Peace.

Heavily-armed officers stormed the budget Belazur Hotel in Calais town centre at 10.30am - one of dozens of raids across France

French anti-terrorist police have raided a hotel in Calais today over fears a jihadi cell could be using it as a base to sneak into Britain in the wake of the Paris attacks.

Heavily-armed officers stormed the budget Belazur Hotel in the town centre at 10.30am.

Border police with sniffer dogs then followed the police SWAT teams into the building in Calais, and the area was sealed off to the public.

Officials refused to confirm whether any arrests were made or if weapons and explosives had been seized.

But a police source added: "There are always fears that terrorists are living among the thousands of illegal immigrants in Calais."

Local media have been reporting heavy weapons were found inside the hotel.

There are currently an estimated 6,000 migrants living in a squalid shanty town near the Calais ferry port known as the new jungle.

The operation in Calais came after 168 pre-dawn raids across France earlier today, when they seized a rocket launcher and a huge cache of weapons in Lyon.....etc

This disaster keeps growing.......I think I know what they should do but will not write it on a public forum.

Tomorrow, the first plane-loads of refugees from Syria arrive to begin a new life in Britain.
This will delight actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Labour MPs such as Yvette Cooper and a host of other compassionate folk who have urged that Britain open its door to almost all comers.
Perhaps, these lobbyists will feel no twinge of embarrassment about the revelation that at least two of the Paris killers travelled to Europe as refugees from Syria.
The rest of us, however, shake our heads in unsurprised horror.

Was just watching that on TV.  He seems to be handling this so well.

Meanwhile watching our guy at the G20, was embarrassing.  He's on his way to Indonesia so was able to get out of answering press questions.

I'm not a big fan of Hollande, Lily, but he is, IMO, handling this pretty well. Can you imagine what Obama would have done if three suicide bombers had attacked a stadium with him inside, while all Hell broke loose in the city?

He'd have run away and hidden, not got on TV ASAP to rally the nation. Even the French authorities letting the football carry on was the right thing to do - it stopped an enormous panic, and tens of thousands of people fleeing the stadium in terror and adding to the chaos.

Obama would have panicked, found a way of blaming the Confederate flag, and made a less than rousing speech which didn't say the words ISLAMIC TERRORISTS.

He might reach for his spliff.

David Cameron has vowed to use military force and tougher counter-terror laws to prevent Paris-style terrorist attacks on Britain.

In his first major speech since the Paris massacres, the Prime Minister said extremism had become "an epidemic" and spelled out a three-point strategy to tackle it.

"When you are dealing with radicalised European Muslims, linked to ISIL in Syria and inspired by a poisonous narrative of extremism, you need an approach that covers the full spectrum - military power, counter-terrorism expertise and defeating the poisonous narrative that is the root cause of this evil," he said.

Speaking at the annual Lord Mayor’s Banquet in the City of London, Mr Cameron also hit out strongly at the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who just hours earlier had questioned the legality of the killing of "Jihadi John" and opposed a "shoot to kill" policy against terrorists.

"You can’t conduct foreign policy by press releases and pious statements in Parliament," said the Prime Minister. "You have to engage and build the alliances that can make a difference."...etc.

I know this is the point at which I’m supposed to say not all Muslims in the west are bad people, but I can’t bring myself to care about caveats when 1,200 girls are getting raped in Rotherham and Britain is sending more fighters to ISIS than almost any other country. As the journalist and activist Brigitte Gabriel points out, the peaceful majority are irrelevant.

Liberals refuse to face the fact that Muslim immigrants will never adapt to western cultures and become typical Britons without some kind of massive re-education and assimilation. They expect us to expand our progressive worldview by accepting Islam’s bronze-age barbarism.

That's a good piece; I would love to know why leftists and moonbats are so drawn to islam, when it's such a totalitarian, bigoted belief system.
