Someone pointed out to me that Mrs Brain must have made most of her Facebook page private and, sure enough, a box headed ‘Kathryn’s photos … Albums’ says that the now presumably private part of her page includes 43 profile pictures and 40 cover pictures. I assume the nine I included at the end of my previous post are among them. Here are the others I have seen:

from 31 October 2014, a shared link with a photo of Alex Salmond as he ‘opens Lidl store as snub to Asda for failing to back Scottish independence’
from 11 November 2014, a photo posted by someone else of a crowd waving a forest of flags, most of them Catalan, with the legend ‘CATALONIA VOTED YES.’ To that Mrs Brain has added ‘Catalonia the Brave!’
from 20 January 2015, a post beginning ‘I have moved my young family and myself here …’ summarising the story of her family’s move to Scotland. It is abundantly clear from her reference to their visa situation that she is fully aware of the work requirements on her and her husband – ‘I have to return to Australia at the end of May [2015] if I am unable to extend my visa to seek work …’
from 18 March 2015, a photo confirming she has signed a petition on Change.org, about what is not clear, but to which she has added a long comment – ‘My husband and my family are ancestrally [sic] from Scotland and we, with our 6yo son, have been living here the last 3+ years while I undertake University study. We want to make Scotland our permanent home, but unless my husband obtains a Tier 2 Work Visa before the end of May (when my Tier 4 Student Visa expires), we will have to return to Australia.’ and finally
from 1 July 2015 a stock photo of a crowd waving saltires and Yes posters confirming that she has signed another petition, this time for a second Scottish referendum. TV presenter Neil Oliver has revealed he has quit using social media after being subjected to “vicious” abuse from pro-independence supporters. The star of BBC show Coast deleted his Twitter account after being being bombarded with hate-filled messages after he spoke out in favour of the Union.
Internet trolls sent him messages saying they hoped he got cancer cancer [sic] and said he was a traitor who deserved to be burnt alive. The historian and archaeologist had more than 40,000 followers on the social networking site but has now closed it down after growing tired of the abuse. ....etc

STV has been accused of gagging one of its journalists after “bullying” by the SNP.

The broadcaster was yesterday criticised for caving into political pressure, while the party was accused of intimidating the media.

The row erupted after it emerged STV had called a halt to its digital politics and comment editor Stephen Daisley writing articles for its website.

Mr Daisley, who was defended against a previous SNP attack by Harry Potter author JK Rowling, regularly courted controversy.

He called himself “a friend” of Labour, accused Jeremy Corbyn of supping with anti-Semites, and said the SNP was “expert at mining grievance from even the most innocuous act or statement” and had the “preponderance of zoomers” in Scottish politics.

He had contributed one or two opinion pieces per week since 2014.

However STV has not published any of his articles since July 19.

The broadcaster said he remained a key contributor but its output had “evolved”.

The decision followed mounting pressure from the SNP over the broadcaster's digital content and Mr Daisley in particular, with complaints first raised at an event hosted by STV executives at Westminster in the spring.

SNP culture spokesman John Nicolson and chairman of the Scottish Affairs Committee Pete Wishart, who met STV, also questioned Mr Daisley’s output via social media.

In June, JK Rowling came to Mr Daisley’s defence on Twitter after Mr Wishart asked whether one his comments was his own view or “just the view of the ‘digital arm’ of the STV family?”....etc.

The SNP has turned into something seriously ugly over the last couple of years - possibly due to its courting the formerly Labour Irish Republican vote in Glasgow, not to mention the anti-Israel left.

It has also become totally incompetent when it comes to actually running the country.

That's from a Tory viewpoint, but it helps explain what's happened to the SNP - they've courted our equivalent of the Free Sh*t Army, to the exclusion of all else.

The SNP lost quite a bit of ground in terms of votes to the SC&UP in this May's Scottish Parliament election in the east coast. Some of those constituencies saw swings of 15% from the SNP to the SCons and the then Finance Minister, now Education Sec, has a fairly marginal seat.
I reckon the SNP will mop up with Labour in their remaining few constituencies in the west but I would watch out for those Tayside, Aberdeenshire, and Moray constituencies in 2020. I don't think they'll stick with the SNP at the next election.

I actually don't have the words for how angry I am about all of this. I voted SNP all my life, I voted YES in the Indy referendum - and now it is becoming clearer every day that Salmon, Sturgeon and co told us all a pack of lies, from start to finish.

They knew all along that Scotland couldn't just waltz into the EU; couldn't then and can't now.

If more people had made the same mistake as me, and believed them, then Scotland would be a bankrupt, ruined state right this minute, begging the EU for scraps. What the price of those scraps would be is anyone's guess.

Which brings me to something even more serious. Why the obsession with the EU? Is Scotland, as has happened to our detriment for centuries, being used merely as a means to attack England? After all, the much-vaunted 'Auld Alliance' had a nasty habit of ending up with mounds of dead Scots....

The Russian news agency Sputnik has opened an office in Edinburgh. Now, I have nothing against Russian media, I know what its bias is, but now, the SNP are never done trotting off to Sputnik with tales of woe about Perfidious Albion. All the while complaining about the BBC and leaning on STV to silence journos who criticise them.

Something odd and unpleasant is going on here, IMO, and it has nothing to do with Scottish independence.

I am starting to wonder about that myself, Lily. I really don't like being lied to, especially not so blatantly and deliberately as that. For sure, something is very badly wrong.

Well, there is something not right going on, Lily. Apart from anything else, I wouldn't blame the UK for sidelining Sturgeon from negotiations on Brexit. Unlike her counterparts in N. Ireland and Wales, Sturgeon has been actively undermining Westminster, rushing round Europe with her hair on fire, begging minor functionaries for help.

It's frankly unedifying - and don't forget, over a million Scots voted Leave.

The stunts this week, with German and Kenyan/Italian 'SNP activists' were appalling; now we have a talented journalist being leaned on via his employers - and the revelation last night that the SNP leadership has been telling a pack of lies about the EU for THREE YEARS.

I can see a huge bust-up coming between the original supporters, and these Europhile, pro-IRA, anti-semitic, Left-wing carpet baggers that have taken over the SNP. Also, there are elements of this that are strangely familiar from elsewhere in the world....

No one could have put it better.

I am sure Washington must be trembling with fear.

This has been boiling up for a while, Lily. On one occasion, caught on camera, the actual locals managed to get a word with Ms Sturgeon - and she blanked them, her attitude being It's all Glasgae cooncil's fault, wisnae me.

Meanwhile, she's crying over Germans, and Kenyan/Italians that turn out to be Party activists.

She is also keen on large-scale immigration, and fosters belief in the fabled Magic Money Tree. This may all sound very familiar to anyone who has followed the antics of the US Dems in certain parts of America.....

Now, I haven't changed my mind about Scotland being independent - but I take Switzerland or Singapore as role models, and have NO desire to live in a bankrupt, socialist sh*thole, ruled by President for Life Madame Sturgeon.

I will never vote SNP again, and I am not alone amongst the old-timers in that.
