I swear the eurocrats have gone mad, they seem hell-bent on enraging as many people as possible.

I am reading that FB, Google and a few others have their European HQ in Ireland. Now, I have no great love for any of them - or Apple - but if the EU get away with putting the squeeze on one company like this, they will try it on others, too.

Theresa May has ruled out a second referendum on Britain's withdrawal from the EU, and insisted that the country will make a success of Brexit.

She made the comments at a special Cabinet away day at Chequers, as she met her ministers for the first time since their summer break.

Mrs May is likely to use the meeting to attempt to resolve a bitter split between senior Cabinet ministers over the deal Britain wants to leave the European Union.

It has been claimed she intends to "bang a few heads together" to halt feuding between the so-called "Three Brexiteers": Liam Fox, David Davis and Boris Johnson.

Chancellor Philip Hammond is also at odds with Dr Fox and Mr Davis because he wants the Government to try to retain its membership of Europe's single market after Brexit....etc.

Hammond always was an idiot; thank the Lord he's away from Defence now, he was showing worrying signs of wanting to invade Russia...

And Mrs May actually seems to be in charge of things! This will be a welcome change, after Dave's waffling.

Oh, and Sturgeon's refusal to do any actual work.

LONDON (AP) — British Prime Minister Theresa May has firmly rejected the notion of a second referendum on the country's membership in the European Union, insisting Wednesday that the U.K. wouldn't attempt a back-handed effort to remain in the bloc.

May underscored her position before chairing a Cabinet meeting at her country retreat, Chequers. She seemed intent to squelch rumors that the government might be seeking a retreat from the result of the June 23 referendum.

"We must continue to be very clear that 'Brexit means Brexit,' that we're going to make a success of it," she said. "That means there's no second referendum; no attempts to sort of stay in the EU by the back door; that we're actually going to deliver on this."

Britain could ensure the supply of labor with special visa rules for foreign agricultural workers, like those it had in the past. But with so much up in the air after the EU vote, it is unclear when that will be sorted out.

I'm sure it will be sorted out, it's in everyone's interests for an arrangement to be reached.

The changing regulations aim to encourage consumers to shift to LED lamps, which cost much less to run than traditional light bulbs. ...etc.

Here's an idea for the EU - let the people who pay the electric bill decide what kind of bulbs they want to use. Many, many people detest those accursed low energy bulbs, not least because they are downright dangerous for people with poor eyesight.

The clue is in the word LIGHT. I look forward to the UK leaving the EU, and being able to decide for myself what kind of LIGHT bulb I use.

THE First Minister said that a new survey would take the pulse of Scots on a range of issues and their importance to the constitutional question

1. She never listens to anyone except those who say Yes, Nicola, you are wonderful, Nicola.

2. The 'survey' is on the SNP site, so only SNP supporters are going to touch it with a bargepole.

3. Whatever answer she gets, she will declare that the cause of Scotland's problems is TOARIES!!!!

4. All anyone outside her cult wants her to do is actually take care of the day to day domestic affairs of Scotland, as she is handsomely paid to do.

Instead of running round Europe like a headless chicken, pretending to be a world statesman.

Oh, and she could also try producing accurate figures for SNP membership, as she's currently using the same counting system as Bennett and the hounders. It shouldn't be hard for her to find them, what with her husband Pete Murrell being head of SNP admin and earning a six-figure sum for doing so.

There are many, many people like me who have always supported Scottish independence, but who would now vote for the Devil himself rather than anything or anyone connected with Sturgeon and her cult. Launching the massive listening exercise, Sturgeon said that she wanted the SNP to talk to 2m people on the independence issue between now and St Andrew’s Day (November 30).

The 'Scotland, Let's Hear It' survey asks voters how they voted in the 2014 independence referendum, as well as asking how important a range of issues are to voters.

Voters can't submit the survey without inputting their e-mail address, which could lead to controversy over what the SNP intends to do with the data they collect.

A new poll today suggested that voters are opposed to holding a new vote on independence before the UK leaves the European Union.
