Good morning, kind of. My little garden is going to be severely ignored for the next 3/4 weeks due to my having broken my left hand. So, there we go, the hosta is going mad, the weeds are going apace and I am suffering! A little sympathy wouldn't go amiss .... LL Sad Sad

Not quite sure, dear Lily, but it would appear to have happened around the time I was lugging assorted crates and boxes from one part of the house to another. It felt sore for a couple of days then my thumb swelled followed by the rest of my hand. An X-Ray showed a break in the thumb and some fractures in other bones on my wrist and part of the hand where it joins the wrist. I have the thumb and wrist immobilised with heavy strapping; my fingers are free so I can type but slowly as it hurts. I am lucky in one respect that I have an extremely high pain threshold, but that is also a liability as I have, over the years, broken bones and never realised. Thanks for the hugs, greatly appreciated! LL hug

Thanks, pet, but I am lucky that I have good neighbours and they are rallying round. It's a silly thing to happen but it's not terminal! LL rofl rofl

hug hug bad luck. I walked 3 weeks with a painful hand, caused by a fall. Doctor in denial, put my foot down, I want a picture....
Ask the guy if my hand was broken, he said: Loooking at the picture I would say no, but my collegue will examine further.
Left the hospital and went to the supermarket, tingeling, mobile phone rings: The hospital: you were here an hour ago? Get back to the emergency room of the hospital, your hand is broken....and needs gypsum. Auw Auw...

It takes time LL, but it will heal..... thumbsup

Thanks, Rose, I would be happier if it was my right hand, I feel a bit lost with limited use of my left hand! Never mind, it could be worse! LL hug

No Sun here, but it is still hot.

I have just been to water my neighbour's Green House, and stole a beautiful Lavandar and Purple Iris flower. I am currently into my Japanese Flower Arranging Phase.
And now I feel really bad, not because I stole the flower. It would have been dead by the time she gets back. But I have just realised that it won't seed, now.

Just as a matter of interest, she didn't ask me to water The Green House until she had been gone for four months, so I spent some time watering obviously dead plants, and thinking that I must be mad. And then suddenly, after a couple of weeks of this pointless exercise, most of them began to show distinct signs of life. So don't give up on a neglected plant just because it looks dead.

I think I have just discovered Astro Physics. I bent the lawn mower blade on a very nasty cement border which then proceeded to mash up the grass before grinding to a halt. Bugger. So I went away and had a think about it, along with a couple of glasses of wine. Really boring because I was half way through cutting half an acre in the now searing heat.
Anyway, in the end I raised the mower by one notch. This has cured the mower from blocking the mulcher facility, and the mower is still cutting the grass as short as it was before due to the blade end being lower at one end.
The mulcher bit has always been a pain because it blocks up with grass, so I always have to carry a stick to unblock it. That has now ceased to happen. I have probably just invented a new lawn mower mulcher.
Probably only Cause and Effect. But that's Astro Physics for you.

Shattered. It is really very hot.

We're back at typical weather = it's drizzly and chilly, Sabot. It was good while it lasted....

I think you should have another glass of wine to celebrate your discovery biggrin

I did. Two more in fact. Those first two glasses save me a trip to the Mower Repair Shop and a wasted afternoon. There's a lot to be said for having a think.

Guess what! I have grown a Grape Pip. This is particularly spectacular because it came from a very nice bunch of Grapes that I found in someone's garden. I don't expect it to produce Grapes anytime soon. But this doesn't matter all that much as I have been giving garden room to a shop bought Grape Vine that has never produced anything even remotely resembling a Grape in all of the fifteen years it has been there.
I have threatened it, but nothing works. So it had better now watch it. And I am just about to tell it so.

When I came back from the hospital yesterday, I found this small bunch of flowers from my neighbor's garden. She is such a kind lady! By the way, I use the tictac box to keep the windows open when it is breezy!! LL

Thanks, Lily, I wondered what they were! I can recognise a rose, just, but I am clueless where flowers are concerned. Giving flowers to someone who is ill, or been to hospital is a custom here, at least in the villages. LL

I forgot to tell you all that my second lot of Sunflower Seeds actually germinated. I have no idea of what happened to the first lot
Anyway, three of them are now about two inches high. So I am copiously watering the very dry ground where they are going to be planted out in a minute. I have also cut the bottoms out of three plastic plant pots that I hope will afford them some sort of limited protection initially. I have no idea why I am doing this, but it seems like a good idea.

Let us know how yours get on will you? I am completely in the dark about growing Sunflowers. The first three look really good, but the other two had slightly bent first leaves, so I am not sure about those. But I will have to plant them somewhere because I can't bring myself to throw them away.
