Can't think why ordinary working class people turned their backs on Remain.

Well, I have to admit I didn't see a win for brexit.
But will cheerfully accept the democratic verdict and get behind making it a success. Lots of work to do!

Plenty paperwork, no doubt! Who knows, Brexit might even encourage the remainder of the EU to clean its act up - though I won't be holding my breath.
I hope the UK re-forges links with the Commonwealth - a market of 2.328 billion, which puts the EU to shame.- choosing the open seas, etc.
And a lot of the Commonwealth shares a Head of State.....

Yes Bonny. We all need a very positive approach and a great deal of healing.
I note that the pledge to spend the money not going to EU on the NHS has been called a 'mistake' The immigration promise will turn out to be undeliverable. These will not help. I can see choppy waters ahead.

Re: EU referendum set for June 23rd
I hope people in England don't keep fighting with each other, Jean-Pierre, as has happened here. I freely admit I voted YES two years ago, but if I had known then what I know now....we dodged a bullet with that one.
But people who voted NO are still being called Traitors, yoons, nawbags, quislings, etc - it's not very nice at all. - especially when it's an MP doing it, on twitter. I hope people south of the border can pull together a bit better than we have.

Interesting. The Euro was at 78 pence last night. Up to 82 pence early this morning. And now back down to 80 pence.

It'll calm down once people realise the world is still turning and the sun is still rising, Sabot.

It does sound as though everyone is being a bit hysterical, Bonny. There is nothing to be done except get on with it, however anyone feels.
So what has Blair got to say?

Oh, I see Dave's resigned:

Cameron Resigns After UK Votes To Leave EU
After the UK votes for Brexit, the Prime Minister says he fought "head, heart and soul" but the country now needs a new leader.
That's a rather nasty mob outside Boris's home - progressives showing how tolerant they are again.

If you're ever having a bad day at work remember you're not David Cameron and you didn't unintentionally lead the UK out of the EU.
Yup.

And The Euro is holding at 80 pence. It was much worse than that back along. Phew. I am beginning to feel hopeful for me as well as Britain.
I am not interested in The Dollar. Sorry about that.

Oh, guess who's turned up in Scotland to make the madness complete?
Presidential hopeful Donald Trump said it is a 'great thing' that the people of the UK have 'taken back their country' in voting to leave the EU, as he touched down at his golf resort in Scotland today

Generation Selfie and #lovewins will think there's been a coup.
Just think of it this way, Sabot.
Before the UK got entangled with the EU, we worked together with France and gave the world Concorde.
Apres EU, a few weeks ago, the UK was reduced to begging eurocrats to be allowed to reduce the VAT on Tampax.
It's rather a long way to fall.....

That is partly because the Bank of England have pledged a few quid to support sterling. £350bn to be precise. Around a half of our annual budget.
I am exaggerating a bit - the way they have done it is to make the banks buy their dodgy bonds so it pushes some faux liquidity into the market and makes everyone feel better. Then they take it back again at bedtime.
Not completely daft, that Carney' bloke. Not like Osbourne.

Re: EU referendum set for June 23rd
Two Labour MPs have submitted a motion of no confidence in Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Margaret Hodge and Ann Coffey confirmed the move in a letter to the chairman of the Parliamentary Labour Party.
The motion has no formal constitutional force but calls for a discussion at their next PLP meeting on Monday.
It will be up to the PLP chairman to decide whether it is debated. If accepted it would be followed by a secret ballot of Labour MPs on Tuesday.
Will it go anywhere? I know nothing about the internal workings of the Labour party....

I was watching some financial types on Sky, LL, and what they seemed to want most is a period of calm and adjustment - it's still less than twelve hours since we Brexited.
One made the point that new markets are now opening up, with much less red tape. Not to mention the huge Russian market. Time will, as ever, tell.
