Gonc fails to make satisfactory offer to McCanns

Yes, Sargento looks as if he's been eating Gonc's meals for him - and that stupid beard doesn't improve him one bit.

If every picture tells a story, then I think we can all see who is TOAST - it's Gonc. He looks as if he would blow over in a strong wind; he certainly won't be running the Lisbon Marathon.

Gonc really does look dreadful in that interview; whatever it is he's doing, it isn't agreeing with him. Probably the strain of knowing that sooner or later, he's going to have to tell his fan club the truth.....

I think you are right. He knows that he has no way of proving his lies therefore he has lost.

He does look like a beaten thugman there. That is not the face of a winner.

Bear in mind he has just lost his father. Be whatever Gonc is, and regardless of what we think of him, I'm sure he loved his dad and is suffering the loss.

He was looking ill long before his father died. This all has been telling on him for a couple of years now.

He would be well-advised to tell his 'O Crime, police super-lawyer', current representative to just get on with it and make a public statement about the current state of play with the libel trial, IMO.

Gonc's going to have to face the wrath of his supporters sooner or later, so he would be as well to get it over and done with.

I don't suppose for a minute that Amaral cares about his supporters, or what they think. It's all about money with him. He thought in the beginning that he could influence The Judges, as he has done in the past, but it's beginning to dawn on him that this isn't going to work anymore. He needs to settle for what he can save out of his own debacle.

Did Amaral have any concern for the McCanns when Madeleine went missing? No. He couldn't even be bothered to meet them.

Oh Dear. I nearly feel sorry for him.

And No, Lily, he didn't feel sorry for The McCanns at all. He just saw Mega Bucks which he had no intention of spending on paying his debts. He was too busy paying for designer sun glasses, fast cars, parties and face lifts for that ridiculous wife of his. No wonder The Court sequestered what was left.

He had other things on his mind, didn't he, Lily, like being a suspect in a torture case.

I shudder to think what state his Liver is in. A hangover every morning so a hair of the dog had become a necessity by then. And I suspect that he was permanently pissed out of his brains, and hardly in any state to detect anything beyond the nearest Bar.

Cognac with your morning coffee is almost normal in some parts of Europe, isn't it? Which may be all very civilised and leisurely, but is none too good for the liver. And it doesn't take much for that to turn into the hair of the dog, and a necessity.

Just look at what Gonc has done to himself, in less than six years....



He's barely recognisable now - he's almost at the stage when his head looks too big for his body, IMO.

He would be well advised to tell the truth about the settlement and leave the public arena - the longer he tries to put off telling the truth, the worst it is going to be for him, IMO.

Do you remember that photo of him on our old forum? He had that awful redness and splotchiness to his face? That tinge of yellow gave it away. I would be surprised if he didn't have serious liver damage.

I blame Gonc for failing Madeleine after she went missing. It's hard for me to feel sorrow for him because he has been such a nasty thing where she was concerned. Also what he has done to terrorize other women including Ms. Cipriano and his girlfriend. Remember that phone call?

Normally I feel empathy for people who are grieving, just like my buddies here.

I personally have seen Spanish Police in Bars, knocking back Cognac at 8 o'clock in the morning, and not just one. I was riveted I have to tell you. I also know for a fact that a few odd people do it around here, although I have never seen any Gendarmes at it.
I did once, a very long time ago, try it, but I was away with the faeries for the rest of the day. Deffo not a good idea if you want to function.
