Re: AFTER BREXIT
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financialcrisis/7252288/Greece-loses-EU-voting-power-in-blow-to-sovereignty.html
Greece loses EU voting power in blow to sovereignty
The European Union has shown its righteous wrath by stripping Greece of its vote at a crucial meeting next month, the worst humiliation ever suffered by an EU member state.
The council of EU finance ministers said Athens must comply with austerity demands by March 16 or lose control over its own tax and spend policies altogether. It if fails to do so, the EU will itself impose cuts under the draconian Article 126.9 of the Lisbon Treaty in what would amount to economic suzerainty.
While the symbolic move to suspend Greece of its voting rights at one meeting makes no practical difference, it marks a constitutional watershed and represents a crushing loss of sovereignty.
"We certainly won't let them off the hook," said Austria's finance minister, Josef Proll, echoing views shared by colleagues in Northern Europe. Some German officials have called for Greece to be denied a vote in all EU matter until it emerges from "receivership".....etc.
I am so glad I voted to Leave that dictatorship.

I don't know if they can, Lily - remember, the EU and others just ignored the last vote Greece had? And this is the same people as are demanding first sight of Bills put before the Eire parliament.

Probe after Police Scotland cancels £60m IT contract

Audit Scotland will conduct a review into the failed project, which was scrapped in July.
Audit Scotland will conduct an independent review into a cancelled police IT contract worth £60m.
The investigation was confirmed by the chief executive officer of the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) in a letter to Lib Dem MSP Liam McArthur.
The contract was cancelled by Police Scotland in July this year over concerns that the project could not be completed on time or on budget.
The Scottish Liberal Democrats have dubbed the project and its cancellation a "shambles".
The SPA's John Foley wrote to McArthur: "I can confirm that Audit Scotland has now been commissioned by the Scottish Police Authority to carry out an Independent Lessons Learned Review and will report on its findings in due course."
And another £60,000,000 goes down the drain on yet another of the modern SNP's mad, centralising pet projects. It's scarcely a surprise that we have a deficit three times that of Greece.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
Ah well, they're currently getting away with this total fiscal incompetence - because the bill gets sent to Westminster. The current SNP have turned their back on their former heartlands in the parts of Scotland that actually work for a living, and have eagerly courted former Labour voters who are convinced there really are Magic Money Trees.
Now, sooner or later, all this is going to come crashing down, and it isn't going to be pretty.....

Mr Martin also suggested that the UK did not need a trade deal with the EU, adding that an unsigned agreement with a major supplier had worked perfectly well for his business for a number of years.
"Common sense ... suggests that the worst approach for the UK is to insist on the necessity of a 'deal' - we don't need one and the fact that EU countries sell us twice as much as we sell them creates a hugely powerful negotiating position," he said in the trading statement.
Better not tell that pompous eurocrat that thinks 'trade' has to involve ten thousand page documents dreamed up by other eurocrats in 27 different nations.
Instead of an exchange of goods/services/money, as real trade has functioned for thousands of years.

Party leader calls on French MEP to resign
Robert Rochefort admitted to police to committing an indecent act in public.
By QUENTIN ARIÈS 9/3/16, 4:48 PM CET Updated 9/3/16, 5:05 PM CET
François Bayrou, the chair of the French liberal MoDem party, on Saturday urged one of his deputies and a member of the European Parliament Robert Rochefort to relinquish all his party duties following his arrest.
Rochefort, 60, was detained in Vélizy, near Paris, on Wednesday for sexual exhibition, according to French media reports.
“This story is crazy. If it is true, it is very serious,” Bayrou said according to an AFP report. French radio RTL reported late Friday that police picked up Rochefort in the western suburb of Paris following a tip from a security guard at a hardware store.
Rochefort was caught sexually exposing himself to two teenage girls, reports said. When questioned by police, he admitted to committing an indecent act and said he was under a lot of pressure. The act was intended to relieve it, he said. He is facing a fine and may be mandated by a judge to undergo medical treatment, but he’s unlikely to face trial.
Rochefort is a former French civil servant, who was first elected to the European Parliament in 2009. He is currently serving as deputy chair of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee and seats in the ALDE group, the fourth-largest party in the Parliament.
According to parliamentary rules, Rochefort cannot be ousted from his post, unless he resigns, both from Modem and from the European Parliament.
Dirty old perv.

Mike Rumbles demands ‘no repeat’ Computer system problems were also cited by North-east MSP Mike Rumbles as he attacked the First Minister and the Scottish Government for ignoring the damage caused to rural communities by the CAP payment debacle. Rumbles expressed his frustration in Parliament yesterday over what he called “the contempt shown for farmers and the rural economy in the government’s forthcoming programme”. He said: “I waited for some confirmation from the Scottish Government that payments for the coming year to our farmers would not be a repeat of this year’s shambles. But no such reassurances were given. “There was no mention of the £140 million failed IT system, no mention of the damage to our rural communities, and no mention of the millions of pounds of taxpayers money wasted on staff overtime and quick fixes that haven’t solved the problem. “I hope that in the coming weeks the First Minister will hold her hands up, apologise to our farmers and their families, and give a cast iron guarantee this bungle will not happen again.” The latest statistics released by the government show approximately 700 farmers and crofters are still waiting on their 2015 support cash. A further 300 or so have only received a partial payment with 17,330 having now received full payment.
£60 million on a failed police IT scheme, £140 million on a failed farming IT scheme - and every single pound came from taxpayers.
That is just a small part of the expensive shambles Ms Sturgeon is presiding over, and ignoring, while she trots around pretending to be a world statesman.

Oh Lord, can you imagine a police hat on the top?
How on earth could they give evidence in court, when they all look exactly the same? What possible use could they be in an emergency? They'd certainly be no use whatsoever at dealing with sex crimes. Or lost dogs.
No, if an element of society chooses to follow 7th century superstition, then they can keep it to themselves and not inflict it on the rest of us.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
This is a good summary of the money Ms Sturgeon's government has thrown down the toilet:
https://mercinon.wordpress.com/2016/09/10/wasted-money-delay-and-poor-performance-the-snp-government-and-information-technology/
The £355 million total cost of these three projects – abandoned, delivered late or reduced in scope – make the £80,000 web site upgrade look like sweetie money.
Let that sink in for a minute. £355,000,000 flushed down the toilet on failed SNP projects. Just think what could have been done with so much money.
Scotland would have turned into Venezuela in a matter of months with these total incompetents in charge, should we have voted for independence two years ago, and would be begging to be allowed back into the Union.
There are a lot of long-term SNP supporters - me included - who are absolutely incensed at the mess Sturgeon has made of absolutely everything she touches. She's still playing at being The Great Statesman, and screeching about 'Tory austerity', while she and her cronies throw away money and preside over total chaos and maladminstration.
Even worse, all the SNP cares about now is the Irish Republican vote in Glasgow, and assorted immigrants - any actual Scots that sticks his or her head above the parapet and publicly objects to all this is then abused by the cybernats, who seem to have gone to the same charm school as the Corbynistas and the Black Lives Matter thugs.
This is, IMO, going to end very badly, and I am seeing increasing calls for Holyrood itself to be shut down. As well as remarks about Sturgeon, Soros, and her being bought and sold for EU gold.

http://news.sky.com/story/ex-prime-minister-david-cameron-to-stand-down-as-mp-10575485
Former Prime Minister David Cameron is standing down as an MP, triggering a by-election in his Witney seat.
Mr Cameron said he had "thought about this long and hard over the summer".
He added: "In my view in modern politics, with the circumstances of my resignation, it isn't really possible to be a proper backbench MP as a former Prime Minister.
"Everything you do will become a big distraction, a big diversion from what the Government needs to do for our country."
The news comes less than three months after Mr Cameron resigned as Prime Minister, just hours after Britain voted to leave the European Union.
More follows...
OOH! How exciting, a by-election! And with the way Corbyn is going, they will have to WEIGH the Tory votes....

Delegates from around the EU last week met in Brussels to discuss the possibilities for budget reform, an issue previously blocked by the United Kingdom. EurActiv France reports.
Historically opposed to the creation of a European tax system, the Brits were noticeably absent from the interinstitutional conference on the future financing of the EU.
